"Such fantastic place! We looked at a few pet sitters for our quaker Archie. Archie is a rescue, who had 2 other families before us, and suffers separation anxiety. Honestly, these guys are so knowledgeable! We were so worried leaving Archie, but the place is so clean, birds get to come out, Mark is super attentive, and we get so many video and photo updates daily. Their love for birds is evident, so we highly recommend this place to anyone! We drove from London just because these guys are the best we've seen! So, if you have a bird who needs looking after while you're away, these guys will make your birdie's stay a real retreat!!! ❤️"

“I booked our 20 year old male Congo African Grey Parrot Coco for 6 nights with Mark and his partner Gemma. This was the first time my wife and young children had been away from our Grey for 10 years and Coco was in superb hands. Mark is an expert on parrots/ birds, especially Greys which he used to breed. Coco was housed in a fabulous large clean cage which he had to himself and he also had the comfort of a large flatscreen TV mounted on the wall which he and the other parrots can watch and is very therapeutic for them. Mark kept me regularly updated via email and WhatsApp on how Coco was doing including videos and it was very clear Coco had a superb stay with Mark and Gemma and was very happy. Overall I highly recommend both Mark and Gemma; they have a passion for birds and you can be rest assured your feathered friends will be in excellent hands and will actually be having a holiday themselves!! Thank you Mark and Gemma!”

"Given this was the first time our flock had stayed at Avian Retreats, we were concerned how they would settle in. However, Mark and Gemma were very conscientious and they felt at home straight away. The facilities were excellent: very light room, large and clean cages. The birds were let out to stretch their wings and socialise regularly. Mark was sending us daily videos on WhatsApp which made us feel relaxed while we were away. Our parrots are on a quite complex diet with lots of fresh fruits/veg, cooked grains and legumes, sprouted seeds etc and all our instructions were meticulously followed by Mark and Gemma so there was no change in their usual daily routine. We highly recommend Avian Retreats to everyone who care about their birds and want to keep peace of mind when go on holidays or business away."
